Wednesday 4/29/15

SGT Jason Santora was killed on April 23, 2010 in a firefight with known enemies of the United States. For his actions that night, SGT Santora was awarded the Silver Star and Purple Heart for his valor, heroism and sacrifice. On May 18th, 2013, we gave Jay something back for what he gave up for us. CFSQ members came together to raise over $2000 for the Jason Anthony Santora Foundation and Lead the Way Fund, Inc. by performing a workout in memory of a fellow Ranger and dear friend to Coach Wex. We were one of multiple gyms performing this workout that day. “I appreciate the chance to put an event like this together and will be humbled for anyone and everyone who will give a little bit of sweat for a true hero.” -Andy, CFSQ Coach & US Army Ranger

“Santora” is one of too many CrossFit Hero workout examples. Heroes have been conceived and are intended to be performed with intense effort in honor of our fallen military, law enforcement and fire fighters. Today, is about a greater purpose and a moment to reflect. Focus on the movements, choose the appropriate level, and when you feeling completely gassed think about this Hero that has given his all for our freedom and keep going. Pay respect with your best effort.

You can donate to the Lead the Way Fund here.

*Of note in this video: Mario has a mustache…only, almost every single person is still training or coaching at our gym, at the end of Andy’s speech not a single eye was dry.
