A message from Lyndzey
Hey Everyone!
For those of you that don’t know me, I’m Lyndzey Dare, the Olympic lifting coach at MVMNT. My coaching career started when I was 15 years old at the gymnastics center. After college, I started as a member at MVMNT. Five years ago, I began coaching here too. I taught the regular functional fitness classes and started a kids program at the gym.
In my adult athletic career, I fell in love with weightlifting (really, I fell in love with the snatch and not having to run or do burpees). In 2015, we started the MVMNT Weightlifting Tribe.
I would like to offer all of the MVMNT members an opportunity to improve your Olympic lifting technique. Do you feel like some times you just need to spend a little more time to understand the lifts? Do you feel like if someone broke down the lifts into smaller pieces, things would begin to click? Ever wonder what the blocks in front of the platform that you set your drinks and books on are actually used for? This seminar is for you!
We will introduce specific mobility methods to help you be more comfortable in these positions. There will also be additional exercises (drop snatch, jerk in split, etc.) to help you feel better in those positions.
If you feel overwhelmed and confused about the snatch, join me for the Weightlifting 101 seminar. If you are a level 3 or 4 who needs to hone in on your technique, join me for the Weightlifting 102.
Register on Mindbody: Go to “Online Store,” select Olympic Weightlifting, and you’ll find the option for 101 or 102.
Maybe you have a 400# clean and jerk in your future 🏋️♀️
