14.5

What an incredible weekend, CFSQ! First, we showed up in full force to Red Hare Brewery for Blues & Brews for Barry on Saturday night! The event was a huge success and because of our community, the goal was met! Barry has been accepted into the University of Michigan’s speech therapy program and leaves next month. Carly Costello sends her gratitude to everyone at CFSQ and can’t wait to carry on a full conversation with her dad again.

Then, yesterday, we wrapped up the Open in style. Many thanks to everyone that came out to celebrate with us! The energy in the gym was through the roof. It was awesome to meet so many of the family and friends that support you guys while you’re grinding through workouts in the gym. Good people, good food, thrusters and burpees make for a great time. Competitors: get your 14.5 submitted before the deadline tonight.

Strength class is cancelled tonight.

Starting next week: the 9 am Kettlebell class officially moves to 9:30 am.

The next Kid’s MVMNT session starts a week from today! Spots are going quickly. Email ivy@crossfitonthesquare.com to secure a space today.

April 19th is a Bring a Friend Day at CFSQ. Please let us know who you’re bring with you in advance.

One last thing: “When I was signed up for the CrossFit Games Open I really didn’t know why I said yes and with that unsure feeling, I went into each week’s workout really nervous. BUT I left realizing (after my competitive spirit finally shut up so I could think) that I had actually accomplished a lot. Every week, I learned all about my mental weaknesses and toughness and then some. It was good therapy! Now I know why everyone cries so much on the Biggest Loser!! I didn’t think I was able or ready for these 5 weeks. But I accomplished much! And THAT is why I did it! To always remember to just run the race set before me!

Thank you SO MUCH to Jess, my amazing friend, WOD buddy and constant encouragement for pushing me and showing me that I could do this! Thank you to our amazing CrossFit on the Square trainers for showing me every week how to do so much that takes everything from me – physically, emotionally and mentally – and then gives me back even more than I had before! And thank you to countless others in my CFSQ family that cheered everyone on the past 5 weeks! Everyone accomplished GREAT things!! Now…….we party!” -Mitzi Gresham
