It was a big weekend for CFSQ! Please help us welcome Jade Stevens into the CFSQ instructor training program and congratulate her on completing the USA Weightlifting Sports Performance Coach Certification this weekend. Jade will be specializing in Olympic weightlifting at the gym. We look forward to adding an Olympic lifting class to the schedule in the future!

Kandice and Shannon attended a nutrition and performance workshop with Christmas Abbott on Sunday. Ask them for tips on how to optimize nutrition to elicit performance gains!

Congratulations to another weekend packed with PRs. Only a small handful of scores have been submitted. The clock is running out. Remember, we won’t validate until everyone has submitted. So, get on it here.

Finally, congratulations to Jon Burklow for finishing in 2nd place in his age group and 4th overall in the Assault on Garland Mountain Trail Run!!  The next day JB led the first Sunday run club on a Kennesaw Mountain trail run. Thanks to everyone that showed up and we look forward to more and more runners coming out! The group meets every Sunday at 2pm in the parking lot on Burnt Hickory. Anyone and everyone is welcome to attend!

Here’s what’s coming up next:

Gymnastics Workshop Series with Lyndzey Dare
This workshop is designed specifically for CrossFit athletes for all around conditioning, to strengthen and master the basics of gymnastics and improve on Olympic and power lifts. The Cobb Gymnastics Center is located just off Fairground behind the Civics Center next door to the aquatics center. Some things to look forward to: muscle ups, forward/backward rolls, handstands, cartwheels, round offs, bridge kick overs, back handsprings, a short conditioning workout and more. You can attend one, all or any combo of the Sunday afternoon two hour classes. The gym will be open just for us.

March 16th (This will be a refresher course with a emphasis on basics for all the people who haven’t been upside down in a while/total beginners)

Time: 1:30-3:30 pm

Cost: $15 per session in advance/$20 at the door. All forms of payment are accepted. Please plan to arrive early for your first session to fill out a waiver. **This is a no shoes training facility. Pedicures welcome**
