Finally, the results of the Nutrition Challenge…
Starting on January 5th, a small group of people looking to make health their top priority, threw $10 into a jar and committed to making a real change. The contestants were required to take before and after photos, starting and final weight, track points and participate daily in our online support group. Throughout the competition they faced mini challenges including increasing sleep, water intake and completing 20 minutes of mobility each day. They were on point the whole way! Even when we threw a wrench in their plan extending the challenge by 10 days, they persevered. This may not seem very hard, but when you’ve cut out sugar and coffee and bread and alcohol and all the other guilty pleasures for 30 days, 10 more feels impossible. My hat is off to them.
To determine the winners, we used a combination of points, participation, and attitude. Actual weight loss was not taken into account as that is not what this challenge was about. (But it was a nice bonus for most.)
Honorable mentions go Kelly Sauro, Hilary Woods, Chris DePasquale, and Sara Ann. They were all within 8 points of each other.
And our winners are…
2nd – Mark Sauro ($100 cash prize)
1st – Kathy Culbertson ($200 cash prize)
Spirit of the Challenge goes to Forrest Faulk. Forrest epitomized this challenge diligently posting each meal, providing research and support for fellow challengers and remained true to the game on his birthday. (Not to mention losing 28 pounds along the way!). Forrest will get to write and name his own workout to go down in CFSQ history.
All the challengers are meeting up tonight for dinner at newly renovated House of Lu at 7:30pm to celebrate. Anyone and everyone is invited to join us and toast to good health!
