Thank you Becci and Stephanie for running the team through warmups while Amanda and I ran the platform. I couldn’t have done it without you, you well oiled machines, you!  I couldn’t be happier for everyone’s accomplishments. Thank you volunteers and friends for making this meet such a success. And bless you Leslie for the Coffee run!

PL for Pups 2015

From Dave-Words cannot describe how proud I am of Team PrettyStrong. All of our lifters did their job and upheld the standard. We, of course, could not have done our jobs without our support crew! Stephanie MahanBecci HolcombAmanda Shumate Carroll, and Leslie Leonard. We would all be lost if it wasn’t for the talented Vanessa PrettyStrong Gale and her ever persistent drive to make us the best we can be and always having a knack for knowing what we can handle on the platform.

This was my first meet since November of 2013. I wasn’t sure when I would ever compete again. When I stepped on the platform, I was on autopilot. I got under the bar and just lifted the weight without thinking twice. It was great day for me and my powerlifting career. I went 9/9 and didn’t leave anything on the platform. While I didn’t PR any lifts, I walked away with a life PR. That is realizing that the weights will come with persistence and time. That I still have so much growing to do in this sport and in life. That no matter what our endeavors are or adversity we face we must always be positive and never give up…never!

I love and appreciate all of my teammates and friends, their families for supporting all of us, the USAPL Georgia for their time and efforts putting on great meets and their voulnteers for tirelessly giving, loving, serving, and doing for this sport and this community.

Lastly, I love my wife and best friend, Vanessa PrettyStrong Gale. She knows exactly what to say and do to keep me on course. There is no one else I would want to navigate this universe with!

Second…Sunday, the PL Team hit the mat for some acroyoga with Danielle Brumfield.
